Yoga Workshops March 1 & 2

 

Friday, March 1:  5 - 8 pm -- Nerve Tonic -- $75

Asanas and pranayama promote involution, increasing our sensitivity to body, mind, and breath.  In turn physically, mentally and meditatively our bodies layers are given access to health.Profoundly quieting, this class turns to our one pointed mind and cultivates self awareness.

 

Saturday, March 2:  9 - 11:30 am -- Mining for Light -- $65

Standing poses create a base of stability and mobility for exploring the many facets of backbends.  Practice to inspire courage, alleviate depression, and elevate the consciousness of mind and spine! 

 

Saturday, March 2: 2:30 - 5 pm -- Search for Balance -- $65

Explore the forces of gravity:  learn to work with and against them. Balancing asanas build strength and develop agility, while accessing inroads to the powers of concentration.  Valuable and accessible for all ages and abilities.

Mary Reilly began her studies of Iyengar Yoga in 1978 in Ann Arbor after graduating from the University of Michigan. She was among the early group of practitioners in the Midwest to be certified to teach and was personally granted an Intermediate Senior 2 credential by B.K.S. Iyengar in 2012. Mary has directed North Woods Yoga, the Northern Michigan Studio since 1986, served as Chair of Certification for the IYNAUS from 2009 to 2013, and studies regularly at RIMYI in Pune India, most recently in December 2015. Mary’s enthusiasm, clarity and precision shine through her teaching; she aims to help students overcome obstacles to achieve their full potential.

Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training 2019 With Senior Teacher Mary Reilly

Yoga Tree is committed to providing quality instruction by the very best in the Midwest. We are delighted to announce Mary’s sixth Yoga Teacher Trainings in Chicago and Evanston IL.   
 
IYNAUS Teacher Ed for Introductory & Intermediate Junior Levels  
 
Intermediate Junior 2 & 3 Training (All CIYT teachers are welcome)  For Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers -Bring a current IYNAUS certification manual along with Preliminary and Intermediate Course Manuals Friday’s focus will be preparation of skills for the IJ2 & 3 levels: refinements and aspects of integration based on observation, further development in adept linking and integration to evoke meditative focus in the classroom.    Introductory certified teachers are welcome to attend and may find this training helpful, informative and inspiring
 
When: Friday, March 1: 9 am – 2 pm

The Module will cover the following 1) Observation and Correction 2) Integration, Linking and Refinements 3) Mentorship 4) Integrating Philosophy in the Classroom
 
Introductory and Intermediate Junior 1 Training - 1year recent study of Iyengar Yoga required  
 
When: Sunday, March 3: 8:30 - 2 pm

Sunday’s training works on solidifying foundational skills emphasizing clear instruction based on observation.  Priorities for teaching to the group will be given to those interested in IJ1 training and those  going up for certification.  This will be the primary training for the certified teachers at Introductory level
 
This Module is for:
1) Those interested in teaching in the Iyengar Tradition (Certification not required)

Bring current IYNAUS certification manual along with Preliminary Course Manual.     

2) Introductory Certified Iyengar teachers who want to hone their teaching skills. 

Bring current IYNAUS certification manual along with Preliminary and Intermediate Course Manuals.     

3)  Iyengar certified teachers preparing for certification at the junior 1 level.

 

What is the Cost: Friday Junior Intermediate 2 & 3 Training $130 ($115 if paid by January 15)

Sunday Introductory and Intermediate Junior 1 Training $140 ($125 if paid by January 15)

Note:  Refunds granted minus a $30 processing fee until Feb 1.  No refunds after Feb 8.
